Bird Watching for Beginners

March 21 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Learn to identify the birds in your garden and local area in this course for adults.

Perhaps you have problems telling your great tit from your coal tit? Maybe female chaffinches look a bit like sparrows? We will help you sort out species confusion and sharpen up your bird ID skills! You’ll be learning to identify your local birds by song as well as sight.

The day will start with a brief session indoors covering the basics, then aim to spend most of the session out on the nature reserve. We will walk around the reserve, visiting likely spots including our bird hide, and honing your skills. The ground is mostly flat but may be uneven and is likely to be muddy and wet in places at this time of year.

We have a few pairs of binoculars to lend, but if you have some please bring them.

Hot drinks and biscuits provided.
